इंडोर गेम्स का समापन डिपार्टमेंट ऑफ़ कंप्यूटर साइंस के स्टूडडेंट्स बने ओवरऑल विनर

झारखण्ड राय युनिवर्सिटी, स्पोर्ट्स क्लब के सहयोग से इंडोर गेम्स इन कैंपस प्रतियोगिता का आयोजन किया गया.

दो दिनों तक चलने वाले इस प्रतियोगिता में चेस, कैरमबोर्ड,टेबलटेनिस का आयोजन किया गया। स्पोर्ट्स क्लब अपनी एनुअल एक्टिविटी कैलेंडर के तहत क्लब एक्टिविटी इंडोर और आउटडोर स्पोर्ट्स की करती रहती है।

इसी कड़ी में दो दिनों के स्पोर्ट्स कम्पटीशन का आयोजन किया गया जिसमे कैरम के सिंगल मुकाबले (गर्ल्स) में सिविल इंजीनियरिंग की स्टूडेंट्स सुषमा कुमारी विजेता घोषित हुयी. वहीं बॉयज के सिंगल मुकाबले में आशीष कुमार (कंप्यूटर साइंस एंड इनफार्मेशन टेक्नोलाजी) को विजेता घोषित किया गया. कैरम के डबल मुकाबले में कंप्यूटर साइंस एंड इनफार्मेशन टेक्नोलाजी डिपार्टमेंट के स्टूडेंट्स आशीष कुमार और आयुष कुमार को विजयी घोषित किया गया, जबकि गर्ल्स के ग्रुप मुकाबले में बाजी मारी बीएससी एग्रीकल्चर की स्टूडेंट्स शशिकला और नेहा ने।

चेस के सिंगल मुकाबले में बॉयज की तरफ से माइनिंग इंजीनियरिंग के स्टूडेंट पवन कल्याण ने जीत का सेहरा पहना, वहीँ गर्ल्स के सिंगल मुकाबले में कंप्यूटर साइंस डिपार्टमेंट की प्रियंका मिंज ने जीत का स्वाद चखा।

टेबल टेनिस मुकाबलों में बेहद नेक टू नेक फाइट देखने को मिली जिनमे बॉयज की तरफ से कंप्यूटर साइंस डिपार्टमेंट के ह्रितिक कुमार और गर्ल्स की ओर से इसी डिपार्टमेंट की अनिशा ने कड़ी मेहनत कर बाजी अपने नाम किया।

इस प्रकार इंडोर मुकाबलों में ओवरआल चैम्पियन डिपार्टमेंट ऑफ़ कंप्यूटर साइंस के स्टूडेंट्स रहे जिन्होंने सिंगल और डबल मुकाबलों में अपने को साबित किया। कैरम के सिंगल मुकाबले में बीएससी एग्रीकल्चर की नेहा को सेकंड और इसी डिपार्टमेंट की एकता को थर्ड घोषित किया गया, जबकि बॉयज के सिंगल मुकाबले में माइनिंग इंजीनियरिंग के राजा तांती को सेकंड और मन्नवर ताज को सेकंड और थर्ड घोषित किया गया।

कैरम के डबल मुकाबले में बॉयज के ग्रुप में मेकेनिकल इंजीनियरिंग डिपार्टमेंट के उदय नायक और कुंदन चौहान को उपविजेता घोषित किया गया जबकि गर्ल्स की ओर से कंप्यूटर साइंस डिपार्टमेंट की मामोनी और अंजलि को उपविजेता चुना गया।

चेस के मुकाबले में डिपार्टमेंट ऑफ़ मैनजेमेंट के कुंदन कुमार को सेकंड और कंप्यूटर साइंस डिपार्टमेंट के फैज़ल रजा को थर्ड घोषित किया गया। गर्ल्स के ग्रुप मेंएग्रीकल्चर की एकता कुमारी चेस मुकाबले की उपविजेता रही। टेबल टेनिस मुकाबलों में डिपार्टमेंट ऑफ़ मैनजेमेंट के सोमय बेसरा सेकंड और कंप्यूटर साइंस डिपार्टमेंट फैज़ल राजा थर्ड रहे.

प्रतियोगिता के शुभारंभ के अवसर पर युनिवर्सिटी के रजिस्ट्रार डॉ. पीयूष रंजन ने स्टूडेंट्स का हौसला बढ़ाते हुए गेम्स में पार्टिसिपेट किया। राय युनिवेर्सिटी स्पोर्ट्स क्लब के इंडोर गेम्स के आयोजन में स्पोर्ट्स क्लब कोर्डिनेटर प्रो बिनोद महतो, प्रो. अमरेंद्र , प्रो. सुमित किशोर का सहयोग रहा. क्लब के स्टूडेंट्स वॉलेंटियर्स में राहुल कुमार सोनी , अनिशा, अंकुर, फैजल, मिमिन्स प्रियंका और शमशेर ने दो दिनों तक इवेंट्स में सहयोग प्रदान किया।

टीचर्स डे पर विश्वविद्यालय में सम्म्मान समारोह का आयोजन

5 सितंबर टीचर्स डे के अवसर पर झारखण्ड राय विश्वविद्यालय में स्टूडेंटन्स के द्वारा कार्यक्रम का आयोजन किया गया जिसमे अभिनन्दन सह सम्मान समारोह का आयोजन किया गया था. कार्यक्रम के प्रारम्भ में देश के प्रथम उपराष्ट्रपति, दार्शनिक और टीचर डॉ. सर्वपल्ली राधा कृष्णन को याद करते हुए टीचर्स डे के अवसर पर दीप प्रज्जवलित कार्यक्रम किया गया जिसमे विश्वविद्यालय के सभी फैकल्टी और स्टाफ शामिल हुए। कार्यक्रम के दौरान सांस्कृतिक और रंगारंग गतिविधयों का आयोजन किया गया था. जिसमे कविता पाठ, डांस, ग्रुप डांस, रैप डांस, मोटिवेशनल स्पीच स्टूडेंट्स के द्वारा दिया गया.

इस दौरान युनिवेर्सिटी की कुलपति डॉ. सविता सेंगर ने स्टूडेंस को अड्रेस करते हुए कहा की एजुकेशन के जरिये ही जीवन में एक मुकाम बनाया जा सकता है और विश्वविद्यालय अपनी भूमिका बेहद गंभीर तरीके से निभा रहा है. इस कार्य में विश्वविद्यालय के फैकल्टी बेहद ईमानदारी के साथ अपना कार्य कर रहे है। विश्वविद्यालय के रजिस्ट्रार डॉ. पियूष रंजन ने स्तापना काल से वर्तमान के सफर को याद करते हुए उन सभी कर्मियों को याद किया जिन्होंने विश्वविद्यालय में अपना योगदान दिया है. उन्होंने कहा की टीचर्स डे किसी टीचर की निष्ठ, लगन, और उसके जुनून का सम्म्मान भी है जो वह किसी स्टूडेंट्स को सफल बनाने के लिए लगता है”

CELEBRATING TEACHER’S DAY AT THE UNIVERSITY – JRU, RANCHI

Imagine college life without teachers? Is that possible? What would your future be like if you had no teacher to guide you? Who will show you the right direction towards your career?

Will it be a life at all? With no teachers around!

Of course not. Teachers are the defining forces of our lives. They are like the lighthouses that blink when we get lost in our life and career. They give us hope for our future.

Teachers enlighten us in so many ways.

Every year, on September 5, we celebrate Teacher’s Day to show our gratitude and appreciation towards our mentors, guides and teachers. Their unique role in our lives is matchless.

This year, on Teacher’s Day, JRU Ranchi University celebrated this day with its community of students. A formal event was held where students participated by performing cultural activities.

Addressing the students, Vice Chancellor, Dr Savita Sengar said, ‘Education is the medium through which we build our future and career. And at JRU, we take this commitment towards education and students seriously.’

Registrar, Dr Piyush Ranjan said that this day is a recognition and honour to all those teachers who have sincerely pledged their efforts towards shaping careers of students.

During the event, few of the faculties were honoured for their continuous efforts towards students’ development.

Prof. Raghuvansh Singh from Department of Electrical and Electronics was recognised as the ‘Faculty of the Year’. From Department of Mining Engineering, Prof. Sumeet Kishore was given the recognition of ‘Mentor of the Year’. Prof. Rashmi Department of Life Skills was recognised for her contribution on towards overall development of the University. ‘Department of the Year’of the yearaward was given away to Department of Agriculture.

Several faculties were recognised for their continuous support to University activities and growth. Few of the names are –Prof.Ved Prakash Singh,Deputy RegistrarExammination; Prof. Sabyasachi Chakravarti, Controller of Examination; Dr. Ashfak Alam, Department of Management; Dr. Shradha Prasad, Academic Coordinator; Prof.Priyanka Srivastava: Department of Computer Science , Dr. Abhisekh Pratap and H.O.D Dr. Roshan Kumar from Department of commerce and Management.

Other support staff members like Sapan kumar Dutta, Amit Kushwaha, Prashant Mishra, Prabhu Kujur, Amit Karan, Ranjit Prajapati were also recognised for their continuous support to the University and its smooth functioning.

The program was attended by enthusiastic students and all the University staff members.

लखींद्र महतो, बीटेक सेवेन के स्टूडेंट ने क्विज प्रतियोगिता में दूसरा स्थान प्राप्त किया

झारखण्ड राय विशवविद्यालय के बीटेक सेवेन के स्टूडेंट लखींद्र महतो ने जमशेदपुर में आयोजित कंप्यूटर एंड साइंस क्विज प्रतियोगिता में दूसरा स्थान प्राप्त किया है।

जमशेदपुर के किरण इंस्टिट्यूट ने क्विज प्रतियोगिता का आयोजन किया था जिसमे प्रथम पुरस्कार के लिए 20 हजार रूपए और दूसरे पुरस्कार के लिए 10 हजार रूपए दिए जाने थे ।

खरसावां जिले का रहनेवाला लखींद्र के लिए जमशेदपुर घर की तरह है। जमशेदपुर में पढ़ाई कर रहे लखींद्र के दोस्तों ने इसकी सूचना रांची में लखींद्र को देते हुए कहा की कंप्यूटर और साइंस सब्जेक्ट को लेकर आयोजित किये जा रहे क्विज प्रतियोगिता में जरूर शामिल हो.

लखींद्र अपनी जीत के बाद बेहद उत्साहित है और अपने अनुभव साझा करते हुए कहता है ” कंप्यूटर और साइंस मेरे पसंदीदा सब्जेक्ट रहे है इस कारन मैं क्विज प्रतियोगिता में शामिल होने के लिए तुरंत हाँ कर दी। “

किरण इंस्टिट्यूट ने प्रतियोगिता को ओपन to आल स्टूडेंट्स रखा था और 300 रूपए देकर कोई भी इस प्रतियोगिता में शामिल हो सकता था ।

लखींद्र 300 रूपए लेकर प्रतियोगिता में शामिल होने के लिए जमशेदपुर पहुंचे और तीसरे राउंड में 200 नम्बरों में से 193 अंक हासिल कर प्रतियोगिता में दूसरा स्थान हासिल किया।

उनका कहना है “2 नम्बरों से मैं फर्स्ट पोजीसन को पाने से चूक गया 193 नम्बरों के साथ मैं दूसरे स्थान पर रहा और 195 नम्बरों के साथ प्रतियोगी पहले स्थान पर, इसका मुझे थोड़ा अफ़सोस तो है लेकिन मुझे दूसरे स्थान पर आने की भी खुशी है यह मेरे लिए और मेरे डिपार्टमेंट के लिए गौरव की बात है.”

लखींद्र महतो की सफलता पर उसके मेंटर प्रो. ओमप्रकाश सत्यम ने भी अपना विचार व्यक्त करते हुए इस सफलता पर ख़ुशी जताते हुए लखींद्र को एक मेहनती स्टूडेंट बताया ।

INTEGRATING HEALTH AND EDUCATION – PROJECT MINDFULNESS INITIATED BY JRU

Physical and mental fitness are interlinked. When you feel healthy, your mind is agile and active. With this thought, JRU launches regular Zumba sessions for students to make health a part of University’s curriculum. Launched as Project Mindfulness, it is aimed at helping students to improve their health and well-being.

The Project was launched during ROOTS 2019, as freshers were initiated into the JRU family. The seeks to encourage healthy lifestyle among JRU students, staff and faculty.

“This project span the areas of physical and mental fitness. It is about providing an environment that creates awareness on the importance of health and wellness, topics that deserve attention,” says Dr Piyush Ranjan, Registrar, JRU.

Such initiatives on campus always help students learn strategies to manage stress related to student life and achieve work/life balance.

“JRU’s Project Mindfulness initiative is important because it promotes well-being, it creates conversation about the importance of well-being, and it supports students with possible solutions for living balanced lives,” Dr Ranjan adds.

The Zumba sessions at ROOTS 2019 witnessed maximum participation from freshers. For some of them, it is not only a time to become healthy, but also a time to bond and make new friends.

As education and health integrate on JRU campus, the journey of ‘healthy mind in a healthy body’ continues for every student from now on. It is time to say – Health wins!

FRESHERS SHARE THEIR EXPERIENCES – ROOTS PROGRAM 2019

The first day and the first week of college is always unique. You are at a new campus. There are unknown faces all around, who soon become your friends. Let’s face it. The entire experience is exciting, as it is overwhelming. Although they bring smiles and fond memories later.

Three freshers share their experiences of first day at Jharkhand Rai University, Ranchi campus.

For Radhika Kumari from Ranchi, it feels like a new beginning. This is her first day at Jharkhand Rai University, Ranchi. Radhika is attending the Foundation Program named “ROOTS –2019”. Keeping in mind the students coming from different and diverse background, JRU brings in 10 days meticulously designed Foundation Program.

RADHIKA KUMARI, DIPLOMA IN ENGINEERING (ELECTRICAL)

“ROOTS – 2019” is designed around the students, helping them to uncover the answers to the questions they have, and providing the information regarding the campus resources, programs and services. It is also an opportunity for the students to learn, how to navigate the campus.

Radhika has taken admission in Diploma in Engineering (Electrical). Explaining her excitement, she says, ‘I’m going through mixed emotions. There is anxiety, a sense of hope for the future, a kind of expectation from the University and a certain amount of curiosity to explore the next steps.’ Though, in her own words she is ‘nervous’, but she is prepared to handle this feeling.

‘Other freshers attending the Roots Program have been friendly to me. I admire the faculties who are paying special attention to all the new students,’ Radhika says.

‘My first day at the University has a significant meaning to me,’ says Aman Vishwakarma, a fresher pursuing Bachelor of Computer Applications. What’s interesting and unique about Aman is that he is paying for his education himself. For Aman it is the ‘beginning of my dream to go to a University and pursue higher education.’ He is full of enthusiasm. More than the University, Aman has huge expectations from himself and is eager to build his career. He shares, ‘I always wanted to be a serious student who would decide on a career path and pursue the same relentlessly.’ For Aman, the first day at Jharkhand Rai University was fun-filled.

‘I enjoyed the roots sessions, especially Zumba, that’s something new. It was a day full of new experiences’ he smiles.

Archana Kumari, a fresher pursuing Master of Computer Application at Jharkhand Rai University, Ranchi says the first day was like ‘landing on a new territory. You don’t know what to do next.’ On her first experiences at the campus she says, ‘Well, you have this orientation day speech, an intro of your college family. You get the map of college (in your head not on paper). Once done, you are free to explore college. Good to see the posters of anti-ragging all around the campus. Ragging is banned in JRU so feel free to talk to senior. I enjoyed the roots classes.’

NEED FOR MOTIVATION AND EMPOWERMENT : A TALK BY VC DR. SAVITA SENGAR

‘Strong motivation in life helps you accomplish many tasks. There are three aspects to motivation – knowing what, how and why. Identifying the why is the most important factor, as that will give you a sense of purpose to pursue a goal. Qualities such as persistence, being a self-starter, commitment to achieving results and being willing to go the extra mile on projects or to help other team members are some of the qualities of a motivated person,’ said Vice Chancellor, Dr Savita Sengar while addressing eminent government public relations (PR) officers at Suchna Bhavan, Ranchi. She was speaking at the ‘Motivational Workshop’ organised by Information Public Relations Department, Govt of Jharkhand.

The impressive gathering saw the presence of Principal Secretary to CM Shri Sunil Kumar Barnwal. Deputy Director IPRD Shri Ajay Nath Jha was also present at the workshop. The workshop was attended by communication and PR officers, district PR officers and social media and publicity officers. Together they discussed the need to remain motivated in professional life and how best to empower & communicate government initiatives to end users for their upliftment.

Dr Sengar said that the growing emphasis on participatory communication is the need. Communicating about government initiatives and other schemes cannot be linear. The role of PR officers is not limited to just communicating or informing the stake holders about a scheme; it is about getting them to avail it. Facilitation is the bigger objective. While empowering citizens will draw results. In this, stakeholder dialogue and consultation and bottom-up community media will redefine development and give meaning to and help people reclaim their citizenship.

During her talk, Dr Sengar focussed on the importance of motivation in life and in the professional field. Motivation is that aspect of personality which makes you disciplined to achieve your goal. Ultimately, a job well done always gives a sense of worth. Thereby, it becomes a source of inspiration for others too.

Motivation, according to Dr Sengar is something internal, which can be tapped into anytime. For this to happen, you will need to identify a goal in life. The moment you identify a goal and you strongly aspire to achieve it; you will tap into that hidden source of motivation within you. Further, it will give you the courage to complete any task.

On the need to empower citizens, Dr Sengar said, ‘Today any kind of communication for development and initiative requires a shift from a focus on communication as a dissemination or campaigning tool to a focus on communication as an empowering tool. The latter as a tool emancipates. Such a communication tool is used to facilitate continual exchanges between different stakeholders to redefine development concerns and address common problems or goals. This facilitates individual and community ownership of the entire process. Communication approaches have increasingly sought to combine diffusion and participatory methods.’

JRU LAUNCHES PHOTO CONTEST FOR STUDENTS – MY CAMPUS, MY LIFE

Jharkhand Rai University (JRU), Ranchi today launched a regional photo contest entitled ‘My Campus, My Life’.The contest is open to all students belonging to the state of Jharkhand. Any university/college/Institute students of any semester can participate in this photo contest.

Registrar Dr Piyush Ranjan announced the launch of the photo contest. He said, ‘It’s always refreshing to engage with young people to learn more about their education journey. Besides, it is enlightening to know the aspirations they have for the future. The photo contest will be a fantastic opportunity to capture their outlook.’

The contest provides an opportunity to students of the region to communicate visually their life on campus. The photos will also become a medium for students to communicate with each other about their campus and friends.

By the end of this contest, every student who participates would have created fond memories forever through this photo narrations.

KUNAL PRASAD, MBA STUDENT, JRU, SHARES AN INTERESTING ARTICLE HE READ

Have you ever solved the Rubik’s Cube? For those who don’t know what Rubik’s Cube is, here is a brief about it.

The Rubik’s cube (please see the image below) was invented in 1974 by Erno Rubik, a Hungarian architect. However, it was never meant to be a toy. Erno just wanted a working model to help explain three-dimensional geometry.

The cube, made up of nine coloured squares on each side, can be rearranged in 43 quintillion different ways. That is 43,000,000,000,000,000,000.

Across the world, several “speed cubing” competitions are held, where people try to solve the cube as quickly as possible. This is no simple task. Why? Because the cube has completion paths numbering in the billions but only one goal state — each of six sides displaying a solid color — which apparently can’t be found through random moves. The current world record for solving the cube is held by Yusheng Du, who can solve it at an amazing 3.47 seconds.

That’s good enough. Eh!

Interestingly I came across this article on artificial intelligence by University of California, Irvine. They have created DeepCubeA. It is an artificial intelligence system created by researchers at the University.

It is a ‘a deep reinforcement learning algorithm programmed by UC Irvine computer scientists and mathematicians that can find the solution in a fraction of a second without any specific domain knowledge or in-game coaching from humans’. Moreover, this AI takes about 20 moves, most of the time solving Rubik’s Cube in the minimum number of steps.

The research is published in Nature Machine Intelligence. The researchers in the study demonstrated that DeepCubeA solved 100 percent of all test configurations, finding the shortest path to the goal state for Rubik’s cube about 60 percent of the time.

Therefore, the algorithm also works on other combinatorial games such as the sliding tile puzzle, Lights Out and Sokoban.

Senior author Pierre Baldi, UC Irvine distinguished professor of computer science is the man behind this AI. Baldi is involved in projects that research to build the next generation of AI systems.

People across the world are touched by artificial intelligence every day through apps such as Siri and Alexa. Besides, recommendation engines working behind the scenes of their favourite online services prompt suggestions and links that are based on your search history.

झारखण्ड राय यूनिवर्सिटी की स्टूडेंट अंशिका त्रिपाठी का चयन मिस इंडिया ग्लोब इंटरनेशनल प्रतियोगिता के लिए किया गया है. यह प्रतियोगिता अक्षय मार्क संस्था के द्वारा आयोजित किया जाता है जिसमे सीआर ग्रुप और असमी फाउंडेशन इसके इंवेंट पार्टनर है। मी. एंड मिस इंडिया ग्लोब इंटरनेशनल प्रतियोगिता के लिए अंशिका का चयन बेस्ट थ्री में किया गया है. अन्य तो प्रतियोगियों में ओडिशा की सुवर्णशू शेखर मुदुली और उत्तरप्रदेश से सत्यम सिन्हा है , इन तीनो का चयन पुरे भारत के गोल्डन टिकट के लिए किया गया है ।

सिंगिंग,डांसिंग मॉडलिंग, एंकरिंग और ड्राईंग के लिए जरिये अपनी अलग पहचान बनाने की जूनून रखने वाली अंशिका त्रिपाठी यूनिवर्सिटी में जाना पहचाना नाम है. अंशिका झारखण्ड राय यूनिवर्सिटी के डिप्लोमा इलेक्ट्रिकल इंजीनियरिंग की सेकंड सेमेस्टर की स्टूडेंट है और यूनिवर्सिटी की मिस फ्रेशर 2018 रह चुकी है। मूलतः बोकारो की रहने वाली अंशिका की स्कूली शिक्षा बोकारो स्टील सिटी के संत जेवियर्स स्कूल से हुयी है। अंशिका को मिस झारखण्ड के ख़िताब के अलावा नेशनल लेवल पर फोटो जेनिक फेस का पुरस्कार मिल चूका है. कई प्रोडक्ट के लिए मॉडलिंग के ऑफर भी मिले है और पढ़ाई के साथ उन प्रोडक्ट के साथ जुड़ कर काम कर रही है।

अंशिका का कहना है “ झारखण्ड राय यूनिवर्सिटी में एडमिशन लेने के बाद कैंपस में आयोजित एक्स्ट्रा करिकुलम एक्सीविटीज में पार्टिसिपेट करके मेरे अंदर कॉन्फिडेंस भी आया और मैंने कई इवेंट्स में पार्टिसिपेट किया. राय यूनिवर्सिटी में मुझे एक माहौल मिला, फैकल्टी और क्लब्स का सहयोग मिला। सही समय पर यूनिवर्सिटी ने मुझे कई इवेंट्स में पार्टिसिपेट करने का मौका भी दिया जो मेरे लिए बेहद खास है.” ।

झारखण्ड राय यूनिवर्सिटी के वार्षिक उत्सव फ्रेशर्स डे में मिस फ्रेशर का अवार्ड अंशिका को मिल चूका है. डिपार्टमेंट में आयोजित गेस्ट लेक्चर और सेमिनार में एंकरिंग करते हुए कई बाद डिपार्टमेंट की तरफ से सम्म्मानित हुयी है. अंशिका का सपना मॉडलिंग के सेक्टर में कैरियर बनने का है .अंशिका का एक जूनून फोटोग्राफी भी है जिसमे वह अपना अगला कदम रखने वाली है. एक प्रोफेशनल फोटोग्राफर के तौर पर वह इस सेक्टर में भी काफी संभावना देखती है।
