A Master of Laws (LLM) degree is a one-year post-graduate degree in Law or Legal studies. LLM degree is a specialization degree which means that it equips the law graduates to specialize in one of many legal sub-streams. In order to pursue an LLM degree, the basic eligibility for the program is an undergraduate law degree from any recognized university with minimum aggregate marks as per university norms.
After the completion of the course from Jharkhand Rai University, an LLM graduate is desired at various institutions and organizations which require legal expertise and knowledge. LLM graduates are often employed as Lawyers, Legal consultants, Indian Legal Services, Advisors, Solicitors or Legal Writers.

LLM Programme Objectives
The curriculum of LL.M. has been designed to prepare students with the key skills and competencies required to demonstrate these learning outcomes in academics, profession and corporate sector. Every student after the completion of his LL.M. should be able to meet the following requirements:
- He should demonstrate to identify and understand the key concepts in Indian substantive law;
- He should be able to apply the key concepts of substantive law to the given set of facts, skill of legal analysis, reasoning and problem solving;
- He should demonstrate the knowledge of the precedent and their application to the given facts;
- He should demonstrate the sharp acumen to the legal research;
- He should have the understanding of international law and perform international research;
- He should demonstrate communicative skills, including client interviewing and counseling, effective listening, critical reading, objectivity in legal drafting and persuasive skills;
- He should be able to demonstrate professional judgment, ethics, and professionalism through conduct consistent with the professional values, standard, and discipline;
- He should be able to understand, collaborate and engage with people of diverse backgrounds and experiences in a variety of legal settings;
- He should demonstrate understanding of the professional commitment to access to justice;
- He should have the knowledge and exposure to the career options and employment avenues available to a legal professional.
