A Master of Laws (LLM) degree is a one-year post-graduate degree in Law or Legal studies. LLM degree is a specialization degree which means that it equips the law graduates to specialize in one of many legal sub-streams. In order to pursue an LLM degree, the basic eligibility for the program is an undergraduate law degree from any recognized university with minimum aggregate marks as per university norms.

Programme educational Objective (PEO)

LLM is a specialised degree, hence, LLM holders often land onto jobs which are subject oriented. Thus, pursuing an LLM degree opens promising career avenues in the legal sector.
After completion of the LLM degree, there are career options in the legal field pertaining to both the public and private sectors. Both the sectors hire LLM degree holders who are professionals with sheer acumen and astute knowledge of the subject.
- PEOs (Program Educational Objectives) relate to the career and professional accomplishments of passed out students after their Post-graduation from the program. However, keeping the significance of contribution of the curriculum and the assessment opportunities such as examination and evaluation results, placement data, employer feedback and higher education entrance performance etc. are taken as tools for supplementary evidence to assess PEOs.
- The program educational objectives of the post-graduation program in LAW take into consideration the university mission and the constituents’ need by producing Postgraduates who will be able to:
- PEO 1-To develop graduates with technical knowledge, skill & competency in core legal fundamentals with special emphasis on drafting, planning, litigation, execution and monitoring of various Legal processes and systems.
- PEO 2- To prepare the Postgraduates to enter careers in PSUs or employed in leading companies in Legal or related fields to achieve professional growth.
- PEO 3- To exhibit the professional skills such as effective communication, leadership and team spirit in their chosen career and recognize the ethical & moral responsibilities to make informed judgment considering the impact of legal solutions in economic, environmental & societal contexts.
- PEO 4- To demonstrate an understanding of the critical role of Law plays in society with respect to health, safety, and the environment in tangible ways.

Programme Outcome
- To impart high quality, comprehensive and inter-disciplinary legal education, research and practical analysis to enable the students to apply the knowledge of law to help those in need.
- On completion of law Degree, the law graduates will possess the core competence essential to practice law, can join Judicial / Civil services / as officers in the Armed forces (JAG Branch) and corporate sector.
- The Master’s degree course in Law (LL.M.) further opens avenues for research and teaching. The student can opt for Doctoral studies in India and abroad.

Programme Specific Outcome
Legal education programme is one of the scientific and creative mode of advance education.
Its specialties are to develop leadership, interpreter, advisor, arbitrator, legal culturist, and value maker. It can be summarized in following manner-
- Evaluate a case opinion from multiple perspectives: e.g., use of precedent, reasoning and rhetoric; reliance of historic, economic or political sources and cultural or social values; special attention in prospective impact.
- Construct a synthesis of multiple case holdings to properly read, understand and use statutes and other enacted rules to solve legal problems or construct legal arguments.
- Understand the basic theories and practice of legislative enactment and interpretation.
- Understand the relationship between cases and statutes, and proper and appropriate use of solution of legal problem.
- Predict the probable judicial resolution of simulated legal disputes.
- Recognize legal issues in simulated scenarios.
- Identify and categorize relevant material facts in scenario.
- Identify and synthesize relevant rules of law from one or more primary legal authorities.
