Notification regarding constitution of Electoral Literacy Club

Establishment of Electoral Literacy Club in JRU:

Under the guidelines of Election Commission of India and by the orders of Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of JRU Dr. Savita Sengar, the Electoral Literacy Club (ELC) has been established in JRU.

ELC is the initiative under Systematic Voter’s Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP), which is mainly focused on voter’s awareness, information sharing and motivating them to cast their votes.

Electoral Literacy Club Structure:
Club Convener: Prof. Om Prakash Satyam, Programme Coordinator NSS Cell.
Co-convener: Prof. Prashant Jaiwardhan, Didital Cell

Manish Kumar (B.Pharma 3rd Sem), Gyan Rajan (B. Tech 3rd MiE) & Anshu Bharti (B.Sc. Agriculture (Hons.) 5th Sem) have been appointed as Campus Ambassadors

Activities done so far:

  1. Conference on Ethical Voting on 23rd March 2019 at Kamre Campus:
    This conference was organised in collaboration with Yuwa Manthan Sansthan and Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR), Bangaluru. Prof. Trilochan Shastri from IIM Bangaluru addressed the audience as Keynote Speaker of the conference. His talk covered the aspect of Fresh Voters, Electoral Process, Initiatives by Government and Election Commission,SVEEP and Mobile Apps and different electoral reforms. The CEO of Yuwa Manthan Snsthan Mr. Sudhir Pal highlighted the importance of every single vote. NSS Programme coordinator Prof. Dheeraj Kumar Pandey and Prof. Prashant Jaiwardhan extended his vote of thanks to all the students, participants, faculty members and the guests of the event.
  2. Voters Awareness Campaign at Rajaulatu Namkom
    The ELC club organized Voter’s awareness campaign through the ELC Member Students of B.Sc. Agriculture in Rajaulatu Village of Namkom block. In this campaign the students spread awareness among the voters of this village through Nukkad Natak and Rally throughout the village. Dr. Alok Kumar & Dr. Hemlata from Agriculture Department were leading the awareness campaign. ELC Convener Prof. Dheeraj Kumar Pandey conveyed his best wishes for the events organized by ELC Students.
  3. Orientation Training programme for ELC Students
    This training was organized in association with Bhartiya Kisan Sangh (BKS), Ranchi at Sri Ramdayal Munda Tribal Research Institute Morabadi,Ranchi on 9th April 2019.
    Padmashree Ashok Bhagat addressed the trainees and first-time voters as keynote speaker.
    Prof. Avijit Ghosh, Director Corporate Relations,JRU and Prof.Dheeraj Kumar Pandey, the ELC Club Convenor cum Programme Coordinator NSS Cell delivered their Invited Talks on Voter’s Awareness.
  4. Participation in Human Chain Making for Electoral Awareness
    The students of ELC Club participated in Voters’ Awareness Campaign through Making of Long Human Chain from Morabadi to Vidhan Sabha Bhawan Dhurwa,Ranchi organized by Dainik Jagran,Ranchi on 22nd April 2019. 50 Students under the supervision of ELC Conveners Prof. Dheeraj Kumar Pandey and Prof. Prashant Jaiwardhan actively participated in this awareness drive.
