Innovation is the key to any successful business plan. The management club at Jharkhand Rai University organised Biz Plan 20 on 19th Dec, 2020 where 19 business plans vied for the top position from participating student teams of leading universities like Xavier University-Bhubneshwar, Central University of Jharkhand, XISS, St. Xavier’s College, Ranchi Women’s college, Duranda College as well as the teams from the host institution of Jharkhand Rai University.
It was a fun and engaging session, moderated well by convener of the club Prof. Rashmi & Co-convener Abhishek Pratap from JRU. An eminent jury of experts from industry and academia patiently went through the day-long session listening to the smartest business plans and cross-questioning them on their projects as well as execution plans. The jury members included Projwal Kumar David, a seasoned corporate professional along with Asst. Prof. Amrendra, Convener of Indian Innovation Council at Jharkhand Rai University.
After a careful evaluation of all the entries, Shivani Jha from School of HRM at Xavier University Bhubneshwar emerged as the winner in the competition. Her winning idea was “Canis Felis”- built around the concept of creating a whole world of comfort for your pet. Complete with a well-crafted plan for building the brand across consumer touch points- Shivani made her pitch very well impressing the jury with a fool-proof business plan.
The 1st runners up were Priyanka Ghosh, Nidhi Singh, Purvaa Ghosh & Priyansa Kumari from XISS, Ranchi & their smart business plan explored the local produce bamboo titled– “Jharokhaa” in a bid to replace plastic products thereby building a sustainable livelihood for local farmers and contributing to our environment.
In a rapidly changing digital environment, an online food delivery app capitalizing on “Mom’s Taste” was declared as the 2nd runners up. The team constituted of Riti Shalini Tiru & Meghali Deep Shikha from XISS, Ranchi.
In the end, it was heartening to see #YoungIndia putting their thinking caps and coming up with their smart biz plans for the fiercely competitive consumer market. Their thought processes were inspired with #makeinIndia, supporting #vocalforlocal in their winning ideas..
