The Student Counselling Cell is a dedicated support system committed to fostering the mental, emotional and psychological well-being of students. Recognizing that university life brings academic pressures, personal transitions and social challenges.
The Cell provides a safe, inclusive and confidential space where students can freely express themselves and seek professional guidance. It also aims to empower students to achieve their highest academic potential and personal growth by addressing challenges constructively and promoting resilience and well-being.
Objectives
The Counselling Cell focuses on:
- Enhancing students’ emotional stability and coping skills
- Assisting in resolving academic, personal and psychological issues
- Promoting positive behaviour, self-awareness and confidence
- Facilitating healthy interpersonal relationships
- Encouraging holistic development and well-being
Services Offered through the cell
Individual Counselling
One-on-one confidential sessions are provided by trained counsellor to support students in addressing a range of concerns, including stress, anxiety, and depression; academic pressure and performance-related challenges; relationship and family issues; as well as low self-esteem and emotional distress.
Group Counselling
A structured and supportive process in which a small group of students come together under the guidance of a trained counsellor to share experiences, discuss common concerns and learn from one another in a safe and confidential environment.
Crisis Intervention
Crisis intervention services provide immediate support during emergencies, addressing situations such as emotional breakdowns, trauma or grief and suicidal thoughts or severe distress, ensuring timely care and stabilization for students in critical need.
Academic & Career Counselling
Guidance is provided to help students effectively manage their academic workload, improve focus and productivity, and make informed career decisions aligned with their interests and goals.
Preventive & Developmental Programs
The Counselling Cell organizes mental health awareness campaigns, along with workshops, seminars, and sensitization sessions, as well as life skills and personality development programs to promote overall well-being and holistic student growth.
Psychological Support & Therapy
Psychological support and therapy are provided through professional interventions using evidence-based approaches, including cognitive behavioural techniques, emotional regulation strategies and behavioural interventions, to help students effectively manage their mental health and overall well-being.
