Jharkhand Rai University, Ranchi organised its 4th Convocation Ceremony on Friday April 5, 2024.
Shri. Arjun Munda, Hon’ble Minister – Ministry of Tribal Affairs and Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Govt. of India was the Chief Guest and delivered the Convocation Address. Prof. (Dr.) E. Balagurusamy, Academic Advisor to the Hon’ble Governor of Jharkhand was the Guest of Honour and delivered the Special Address.
H.E. Mr Gabriel P. Sinimbo, High Commissioner of the Republic of Namibia to India was the Guest of Honour and delivered the Special Address. Dr. Harbeen Arora Rai, Hon’ble Chancellor, Jharkhand Rai University, Ranchi delivered the Welcome Address. While Prof. (Dr.) Savita Sengar, Vice Chancellor, Jharkhand Rai University presented the report on major achievements of the university for the 2023/2024 Academic Session.
Board of Governors, JRU Ranchi; Members of Board of Management, Academic Council, members of the staff, teaching and support; alumni; benefactors; parents; well-wishers; friends from media; and students were present for the iconic event at JUT Auditorium, Namkum, Ranchi, Jharkhand.
At the Convocation ceremony, more than 500 students were awarded degrees. Hrithik Ranjan Verma, Master of Business Administration and Prachi Kumari, Master of Computer Application received the Chancellor’s Medal. A total of 20 students received gold medals.
Addressing the graduating students at the Convocation ceremony, Chief Guest Shri. Arjun Munda, Hon’ble Minister – Ministry of Tribal Affairs and Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Govt. of India encouraged students to stay connected with nature, culture and environment so that with progress, we can all take the benefit of our “samskritik virasat”. He told the students to think beyond personal goals and career achievements. “It is time to think about collective growth and think for the nation’s progress”, he said.
While addressing the convocation, H.E. Mr Gabriel P. Sinimbo, High Commissioner of the Republic of Namibia to India congratulated and extended his best wishes to the graduating students.
During her address Dr. Harbeen Arora Rai, Hon’ble Chancellor, Jharkhand Rai University stressed on the need for positive thinking. The Chancellor added that we should all be proud of our Indian culture, of being Indian and of being a part of this rich heritage, which is so inclusive that the message we send out to the world is – वसुधैव कुटुम्बकम्.
Addressing the Convocation ceremony, Prof. (Dr.) E. Balagurusamy, Academic Advisor to the Hon’ble Governor of Jharkhand told the students to “take oath as to what I can do for India to make the my nation a developed country. No matter where you go, think about India.”
Prof. (Dr.) Savita Sengar, Vice Chancellor said, “For long now JRU Ranchi has built the capacity to train, mentor and support young minds who can propel the growth during the Amrit Kaal of Bharat from 2022 to 2047.”
Prof. (Dr.) Piyush Ranjan, Registrar thanked all those present at the ceremony for their participation and attention.
It is important to note that today Jharkhand Rai University is among 153 universities in India, out of over 1400, playing a role in shaping the vision of Viksit Bharat @2047, in line with the vision set forth by Hon’ble Prime Minister under the direction of Niti Aayog and UGC.
Worthy of note is the fact that Jharkhand Rai University has developed its own campus at Raja Ulatu, Namkum, Ranchi which includes 1,00,000 sq. ft. area of Academic Block, a separate building for boys and girls hostel spread across 40,000 sq. ft. area and 25,000 sq. ft. area of Administrative Block.
