Pioneers from Jharkhand : Aarti and Anchal Achieve Milestone as the First Female Graduates in Mining Diploma, Enter Underground Coal Mines. Breaking barriers and establishing new benchmarks, Aarti and Anchal have distinguished themselves as the first girls from Jharkhand to obtain a diploma in Mining Engineering from 𝐉𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐑𝐚𝐢 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 in Ranchi. Now making their mark underground, they’ve begun a paid internship with BCCL (Bharat Coking Coal Limited), paving the way for more women to enter the challenging world of coal mining.

The visit provided valuable exposure to the evolving software industry and its practical applications. Students explored the development center, interacted with professionals, and learned about real-time project workflows, modern tools, and IT career pathways. The experience enriched their technical knowledge and encouraged critical thinking on emerging technologies.

The Department of Management hosted an insightful 𝐀𝐥𝐮𝐦𝐧𝐢 𝐓𝐚𝐥𝐤 on 8th April 2025, featuring 𝐌𝐁𝐀 𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐮𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬 𝐌𝐫. 𝐒𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐛𝐡 𝐊𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐫 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐌𝐫. 𝐒𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐯 𝐊𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐫 (𝐛𝐚𝐭𝐜𝐡 2022–24), currently Assistant Branch Managers at Bharat Financial Inclusion Limited (Jamshedpur & Chaibasa).

In their session, “From Student to Leader: Building a Strong Professional Brand,” they shared their career journeys, highlighting the significance of self-branding, leadership, and transitioning from academics to the corporate world. Through practical advice and anecdotes, they stressed the importance of communication, consistency, and a growth mindset for professional success.
The interactive session left students with actionable insights. The department thanked the alumni for their valuable guidance and inspiration.

The Department of Agriculture, Jharkhand Rai University, organized an educational visit for B.Sc Agriculture 6th semester students to premier research institutions, including the Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), New Delhi; ICAR-Indian Institute of Soil & Water Conservation (IISWC), Dehradun; Indian Institute of Remote Sensing (IIRS), Dehradun; and the Forest Research Institute (FRI), Dehradun.

This visit aims to provide students with practical exposure to advanced agricultural research, soil and water conservation techniques, remote sensing applications in agriculture, and forestry innovations. By interacting with scientists and exploring cutting-edge research facilities, students enhanced their understanding of sustainable agricultural practices and modern technological interventions, equipping them for future careers in agronomy, soil science, and environmental conservation.

Mining engineering students of Jharkhand Rai University, Ranchi, have brought pride to the institution by securing top positions in Great Step, the largest technical fest for mining engineering at IIT Kharagpur.

Workshop on the Transformative Higher Education Exploring the Core Principles of (NEP) 2020 and the Four Year Undergraduate Program Curriculum Framework organised by IQAC Cell and Management Club provided an insightful understanding of its multidisciplinary approach and structural changes in higher education.

The resource person Dr. Neeraj Assistant Professor University Department of Chemistry, Ranchi University and Member of State Level NEP Implementation Cell, DHTE, Jharkhand highlighted the flexibility introduced in bachelor’s and postgraduate programs, emphasizing skill-based learning, credit transfer systems, and holistic development. The discussion covered how NEP 2020 promotes an interdisciplinary approach, allowing students to explore diverse subjects beyond their core discipline. The emphasis on research, practical knowledge, and vocational training was particularly noteworthy, aligning education with industry requirements.

Overall, the workshop was highly informative, shedding light on the transformative vision of NEP 2020 in fostering a more dynamic and inclusive educational framework.

The Mining Engineering student from Jharkhand Rai University, Ranchi, has made the institution proud by securing the 2nd prize in the “Rock on Pap” event ( Sarbhanu, Sakib, Sachin & sourav) at 𝐌𝐈𝐍𝐄𝐀𝐂𝐄 2025, organized by NIT Rourkela , Department of Mining Engineering and the Society of Mining Engineering (SME) under guidance of Dr. Jai prakash Meena sir & his mining team.
Adding to the university’s glory, Mr. Sakib, a 2nd-year B.Tech (Mining Engineering) student, clinched the 3rd prize in “Surveyor Node”, competing against top talents from across India. The Quality education at 𝐉𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐑𝐚𝐢 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲, proved its students can excel on prestigious national platforms like NIT Rourkela!
