Virtual Hiring

Adversities and tough situations lead to innovative solutions. With the pandemic creating massive impact across the world, the hiring industry is no exception. Virtual hiring and remote working have become the new normal with technology playing a significant role.

At Jharkhand Rai University, the Career Management Cell (Training & Placement) has adapted itself to the changing reality. Interestingly, some of our recent campus recruitment drives were 100% virtual.

Sharing more information about this, Piyali Das from JRU CMC cell says, “Since last year, hiring trends have been transforming in response the new normal. Keeping this in view, we constantly help in preparing our students accordingly.”

Though the placement process is organized remotely, a clear procedure is followed at every step. Piyali says, “Recruitment opportunities are shared regularly with relevant departments and mentor groups. Students can share their nominations via mail and all candidates are briefed and prepared before their online interview.”

In the final interview round, we are also present along with the recruiting company’s HR & other officials. That boosts the confidence of our students as we guide them throughout the process. It is heartening to see that our students are not losing their morale and going virtual for their learning as well as job interviews” she adds.

Recently, Sonu Kumar Das, B. Tech Mechanical Engineering student, got placed as Apprentice Trainee along with 14 other students in Masu Brakes Limited, a leading automobile manufacturing company in Haryana.

“I am happy to start my career in automobile sector. The entire recruitment process was very smooth. I would say that the virtual hiring has been a boon in these times as it has opened a wide range of choices before us beyond our state and region. I am thankful to our faculties and the placement cell for handholding us during this journey”.

Career Management Cell (T &P) of Jharkhand Rai University is committed to provide all possible assistance to the students in every situation. The CMC Cell optimises their relationship by organising virtual sessions with the industry experts to prepare and groom the students to the best of their capabilities.

Applauding the efforts of the CMC cell, JRU Registrar Dr. Piyush Ranjan adds, “The aim is to mentor students by helping them choose their career wisely. Our effort is to give proper knowledge, skill and aptitude to cater to the changing dynamics of the manpower requirements. We believe that that progress should not stop and hence our CMC cell

has taken our placement support activities like Group Discussions, Mock Interviews, Personality Development and Expert Guest Sessions to a virtual platform. This has bridged the gap between the budding professionals and their prospective employers. We wish our resilient students a bright future”.
