Program Objective
Agriculture faces tremendous challenges as the world population will grow from 6.7 billion people today to 8.3 billion by 2030. India, with its fertile land having ability of diversified agriculture, can not only meet the demands of the people inside, but can become the global leader in the production of agri-products. Keeping the prospect of Agriculture in its vision, JRU has launched the Diploma in Agriculture programme. The course curriculum of the programme includes courses on field crop production, soil fertility management, organic farming and sustainable agriculture, water management, preservation and value addition in horticultural crops, vermin-composting, mushroom production, greenhouse technology, dairy cattle and buffalo production and management etc.
Career Objective :
- Candidates possessing Diploma in Agriculture have job prospects in private food processing industries, seed and fertilizer companies, sugar mills and horticulture nurseries.
- Diploma holders may also work as Farm supervisors, greenhouse operator, tissue culture operator, block extension worker, plantation worker etc.
- Unlimited potential of self employment and entrepreneurship are available.
