Dr.R.P.Singh Ratan
Dr. Ratneshwar Prasad Singh ‘Ratan’

Ratneshwar Prasad Singh ‘Ratan’ is a Professor and Dean in the Faculty of Agriculture at Jharkhand Rai University, Ranchi. Dr. Ratan earned his Master’s in Agriculture Extension from BAC and Ph.D in Agriculture Extension from R.A.U. Pusa. The topic of his doctoral dissertation was, “Women’s Participation and Economic Contribution in Tribal Farming System in Jharkhand, India”.

Apart from presenting research papers in seminars and conferences he has also published 214 research papers, 25 books and 32 manuals, monographs/reports, etc. He has handled 19 research, extension and development projects as Team Leader, Zonal Leader and Principal Investigator which led to the creation of some of the notable landmarks for fostering effective partnership between research, extension, farmer and market putting Farmer First concept in upscaling appropriate technologies, best practices and innovative ideas leading to development of innovative extension models for Jharkhand.Dr Ratan has also guided various Ph.D research scholars.

Dr. Ratan has an experience of 42 years and during this span he has worked in different positions in Universities and Colleges. He has worked as Assoc. Professor & Head Deptt. Of Agricultural Extension, University Professor & Chairman, Deptt. Of Agricultural Extension, and Director Extension Education, Birsa Agricultural University, Ranchi.


Dr. NEETA SHWETA KERKETTA
Dr. Neeta Shweta Kerketta

Dr. NEETA SHWETA KERKETTA is a Assistant Professor in the faculty of Agriculture at Jharkhand Rai University. Dr. Neeta earned her master’s degree in Agroforestry from Sam Higginbottom Institute of Agriculture Science and Technology and Ph.D. in Forestry from Sam Higginbottom University of Agriculture Science and Technology, Allahabad (U.P). The topic of her doctoral dissertation was “Application of growth regulators and potting media for the quality production of nursery stock in different Poplar clones”.

Dr. Neeta has also authored various research papers that have been published in national and international journals. Dr. Neeta has a teaching experience of 9 years during which she worked at different positions in colleges and universities. She worked as teaching assistant, department of Silviculture and Agroforestry, SHIATS, Allahabad (U.P). She has also worked as HOD/Assistant Professor, Department of Forestry, Doon PG College of Agriculture Science and Technology, Dehradun, Uttarakhand. Dr. Neeta has also guided various M.Sc. students (07).



Dr. Neeraj

Neeraj is working as Assistant Professor in Agriculture Department. She awarded M.Sc. (Food Technology) degree during 2011 from GJU Sci. & Tech. Hisar, Haryana and Ph.D. (Food Science and Technology) in 2017 from CCS Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar, and Haryana. She was recipient of University Gold Medal in M.Sc. Dr Neeraj qualified ICAR-SRF (PGS), ASRB (ICAR) NET and UGC NET exam. She was awarded with Best Doctoral Thesis Award, Best Research Scholar Award and Best Poster Presentation by different societies. She has 2 year experience in teaching and research. She is a life member of Association of Food Scientists and Technologists (AFSTI, India). She has published various research papers, hindi and English articles in different national and international journals and magazines.


Anjani Kumar
Dr. Anjani Kumar

Dr. Anjani Kumar is a Assistant Professor in the faculty of Agriculture at Jharkhand Rai University. He awarded M.Sc. (Ag.) in Plant Breeding and Genetics from Bihar Agricultural University, Sabour, Bhagalpur. The topic of his Masters dissertation was “Effect of elicitors on expression of MYB transcription factor genes in Selaginella bryopteris (L.) Baker” and Ph.D. in Genetics and Plant Breeding from Birsa Agricultural University, Ranchi. The topic of his doctoral dissertation was, “Identification of drought tolerant rice (Oryza sativa L.)
genotypes for rainfed lowland ecology”. Dr. Anjani qualified ICAR-NET to be conduct by ASRB, New Delhi. He has 1 year experience in research and extension from ICAR-RCER, FSRCHPR, Palandu, Ranchi. He has authored more than 10 research articles, more than 10 book chapters published in national and international journals. He was awarded Best paper Presentation and Outstanding Young Professional award. He has attended more than 25 national and international seminar/webinars and received certificate regarding topics. He delivered lectures in different training program organized by Department of Agriculture, Govt. of Jharkhand, ICAR-RCER, FSRCHPR and many other Govt. and Non-Govt. Organization on the scientific cultivation of rice and managing rice fallow areas through conservation agriculture technologies. Dr. Anjani has acquainted with crop production, field management practices, prepration of different organic pesticides and experience of Zero budget natural farming (ZBNF) technique. His areas of interest include molecular biology techniques like DNA extraction, RNA extraction, Plasmid isolation, Gene expression analysis (RT-PCR based), and Plant Diversity analysis using RAPD and SSR Markers.


Puja Singh
Dr. Puja Singh

Puja Singh is Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences at Jharkhand Rai University. She has completed her graduation from Birsa Agriculture University, Kanke. Her M.Sc is from the Department of Soil Science and Agricultural Chemistry, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi and PhD from Bidhan Chandra Krishi Viswavidyalaya, Mohanpur. The title of her PhD thesis was, “Exploration of Key Microbial Groups in Soil under Conservation Agricultural Practices”. She has published various research papers and book chapters in national and international journals. She is expertise in Soil Microbiology.


Dr. Varsha Rani

Varsha Rani is an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Science & Engineering at Jharkhand Rai University. She earned her Graduation in Agriculture from Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. She’s Masters and Ph.D in Agriculture with specialization in Plant Physiology from G.B. Pant University of Agriculture & Technology, Pantnagar, Uttarakhand. The topic of her doctoral dissertation was, “Physiological Studies of Mango (Mangifera indica L.) malformation in five states of Northern India” and was also awarded with ICAR JRF fellowship and DST INSPIRE fellowship during her Masters and Doctoral research work respectively. Apart from presenting research papers in various Seminars and Conferences, She has also authored few research papers that has been published in various International Journals.


Ms. Shweta Singh

Shweta Singh is currently working as Assistant Professor & Program Coordinator – Department of Agriculture. She has earned her M.Sc. (Agricultural Biotechnology) and B.Sc. (Agriculture) from Birsa Agricultural University, Ranchi. She has qualified ICAR-NET in the year 2014. She is pursuing Ph.D. from Department of Bio-Engineering, B.I.T. Mesra, Ranchi. She has received merit fellowship throughout her graduation and post graduation period. She has received TEQIP fellowship during Ph.D. for nearly three years. She has published various research article and book chapters. She has attended a national seminar and received best poster award therein. Her areas of interest include plant tissue culture, hairy root transformation, molecular biology and metabolomics.



Ms. SUSHMA PRIYA

Sushma Priya is a Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Science and Engineering at Jharkhand Rai University. She earned her Graduation in Agriculture from Birsa Agricultural University, Ranchi. She’s Masters in Agricultural Economics from Banaras Hindu University (B.H.U), Varanasi, U.P. Her specialization in Master’s was “To study the trend in production and export of mango from India”. She has attended various National and International Conference and She has published various research papers in National Journals.



Ms. Hemlata Kumari

Hemlata Kumari is an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Science & Engineering at Jharkhand Rai University. She earned her Graduation in Agriculture from Acharya N. G. Ranga Agricultural University (ANGRAU), Hyderabad (AP). She has earned her M.Sc. and pursuing Ph.D. from Department of Plant Breeding and Genetics, Bihar Agricultural University, Sabour (Bhagalpur). She has received merit fellowship throughout her graduation, post graduation period and Ph.D. The topic of her M.Sc. and doctoral dissertation was “Genetic studies in Baby Corn and Study of Combining Ability and Yield Stability Analysis of Quality Protein Maize”. She has qualified ICAR-NET in the year 2015 and also in 2018. She has published various research papers in National and International Journals. She has attended various national seminars, Workshop and Training Programs respectively.



Ms. Shaili kumari

Mrs Shaili kumari is Assistant Professor in the Department of Agriculture. Mrs Shaili Kumari obtained Bachelor of Science degree in Horticulture from Dr Y.S.R Horticulture University Hyderabad. M.Sc.(Horticulture fruit science) from Indian Agricultural Research Institute New Delhi and doctoral degree from Indian Agricultural Research Institute New Delhi. For the doctoral degree programme Shaili kumari worked on “Genetic Diversity studies and characterization in pomegranate”. Mrs Shaili Kumari qualified National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by ASRB (ICAR), New Delhi- recognized by UGC/CSIR the discipline of Fruit science in 2015 with a number of research papers published in peer reviewed National & International journals of repute. Mrs Shaili Kumari also made several presentation including both posters and oral presentations at National and International conferences. She secured Junior Research Fellowship (ICAR-JRF) with All Indian Rank- 5th, for- pursuing Master in Horticulture by Indian Council of Agricultural Research, Government of India. She awarded with Senior Research Fellowship (ICAR-SRF) with All India Rank- 11, for pursuing Doctor of Philosophy in Horticulture by Indian Council of Agricultural Research. She Selected for UGC -Rajiv Gandhi National Fellowship for OBC for pursuing Ph.D. She awarded for best poster Award in National conference of breeding of tropical and subtropical fruit crops for which entitled “Diversity analysis of guava genotype and Psidium species using morphological parameters and SSR markers and 7th Indian horticulture congress which entitled “Correlation between phenotypic and genotypic distances among cultivars, variants and species of guava (Psidium sp).
