Workshop CIPET Ranchi

CIPET Ranchi, In collaboration with the Department of Mining Engineering, orchestrated a dynamic week-long workshop from 21–28 April 2025. Thirty-six budding mining engineers immersed themselves in cutting-edge polymer technologies, manufacturing processes and real-world industrial practices.

The enriching experience broadened horizons, ignited innovation and empowered students to stride confidently into the evolving world of industry. The event culminated with heartfelt appreciation and the awarding of participation certificates accompanied by Dr. Vineeta kumari, Mr. Chandan kumar & Mr. Sudhakar Kumar.

The Department of Agriculture, Organized an educational visit to the Central Tasar Research and Training Institute (CTRTI) in Ranchi for B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture students in their 4th and 6th semesters, as well as M.Sc. (Ag.) Agronomy students in their 2nd semester. This visit provided a valuable opportunity for students to connect theoretical knowledge with practical application. As a leading institution under the Central Silk Board, CTRTI is instrumental in advancing tasar sericulture, which is essential to the rural and tribal economies of India.

During the visit, students gained insights into the entire process of tasar silk production, including silkworm rearing, host plant cultivation, silk reeling, and weaving. Engaging in hands-on demonstrations and discussions with scientists allowed them to appreciate the scientific advancements that support sustainable livelihoods in tribal regions. It was particularly motivating to observe how research in biotechnology, breeding, and disease management is revolutionizing traditional methods into lucrative ventures.

In addition to academic enrichment, the visit fostered an appreciation for indigenous knowledge, the significance of rural entrepreneurship, and the necessity of ecological conservation. It inspired students to consider innovative ways in which science and technology can enhance community empowerment and safeguard natural heritage.

On the occasion of Earth Day, The Department of Agriculture in collaboration with the NSS Cell organized a cleanliness drive within the University. The initiative targeted surrounding the canteen,mess, boys & girls hostel as well as singnificant sspot on campus, aiming to raise awareness about environmental cleanliness and sustainability. Students enagged enthusiatically in the campaign emphasizing the significance of preserving a clean, green, and plastic-free campus.

The Department of Agriculture, Jharkhand Rai University organized an insightful exposure visit to Ramakrishna Mission Divyayan Krishi Vigyan Kendra for B.Sc (Hons) Agriculture students (4th & 6th sem).

They explored seed processing units,post-harvest & value addition, mushroom cultivation, biogas, natural farming (Jeevamrut, Beejamrut), vermicomposting, and integrated farming systems. A modern dairy milking machine demo and a visit to the Ramakrishna Museum added value. The trip effectively bridged classroom learning with real-world agri practices.

Plantation Drive – Nurturing Nature, Building Character

As part of the initiative for Character Building and Holistic Development of Personality, students from PG and UG programs took part in a plantation drive on campus.

A total of 154 saplings were planted by students of MBA, MCA, BBA, BCA, B.Tech (CSE), B.Tech (Mining), BPT, BMLT, and BALLB in groups of 5–7. Saplings included Croton, Jarberia, Beli, Rose, and Snake Plant.

The activity promoted environmental responsibility while building values like teamwork, empathy, and leadership, contributing to students’ holistic growth.

Industrial visit to Jindal Steel & Power Limited

The Department of Management with the aim of providing practical exposure to students, organized an Industrial Visit for MBA Semester II students to Jindal Steel and Power Limited (JSPL), Patratu.

The visit offered students an insightful experience into the operations of one of India’s leading steel and energy companies. Students had the opportunity to witness the various aspects of production, quality control, operations management, and safety protocols followed at the plant. The professionals at JSPL guided the students through different units, explaining the processes involved in steel manufacturing and power generation.

This visit enabled the students to relate theoretical knowledge with real-time industrial practices, thus enriching their learning experience. The interaction with industry experts also provided clarity on management functions within a large-scale manufacturing setup. The visit was highly informative and enriching. It added significant value to the students’ understanding of industrial operations and corporate functioning.

Mr. Chopra shared his insightful knowledge on Recruitment and Selection emphasizing on modern methods of recruitment, the key skill sets and practical knowledge related to interview process offering valuable guidance and motivation to students aspiring to build successful career in the industry.

On the occasion of Ambedkar Jayanti, Prof. (Dr.) Savita Sengar, Hon’ble Chancellor of Jharkhand Rai University, joined Hon’ble Governor of Jharkhand, Shri Santosh Gangwar, in paying a respectful tribute to Bharat Ratna Dr. B. R. Ambedkar at Raj Bhawan Ranchi, honouring his timeless legacy and contributions towards the nation. Prof. (Dr.) Piyush Ranjan, Registrar of Jharkhand Rai University and other dignitaries were also present to pay homage to Dr. B.R Ambedkar.

Students from the Department of Paramedical Sciences (BMLT) visited the Itki Sanatorium Laboratory and TB Hospital in Itki, Ranchi. Throughout the visit, the students acquired insights into laboratory techniques applicable in both laboratory and hospital settings. They observed various pieces of equipment and learned about their operational procedures, including RT-PCR, biosafety cabinets, and Truenat, among others.
