Scholapship Policy

The scholarship policy of the Jharkhand Rai University (JRU) prioritizes ensuring accessibility to quality higher education for all deserving candidates. This document aims to provide comprehensive information on the different types of scholarships and waivers available to students based on their merits and candidatures, thus enabling students to pursue their academic goals without financial barriers.

The scholarships are applicable to all the students enrolled in JRU Regular Programmes.

Merit Scholarship

In order to attract high-caliber candidates, the University offers Merit scholarships and invites applications for admission to a program from meritorious candidates who have completed their 10+2/Graduation/ any other qualifying examinations as specified by the University.

The Fee Structure of the University clearly mentions the Merit Scholarships provided in the selected programs based on the percentage of marks obtained in the qualifying examination.

Grant of Merit Scholarship
The scholarship will be granted as per the criteria approved by the Board of Management on the recommendation of Admission Committee from time to time. It will be governed by the rules of admission as followed by the Admission Department. The scholarship amount secured by the candidate upon admission remains fixed for the entire duration of the course. There is no change in the scholarship amount during the course, however the candidate will have to score the required minimum percentage of marks & meet the Attendance criteria mentioned in the Admission Letter, in order to continue the scholarship for next Year.

Amount of Scholarship
The amount of scholarship will be up to 25% of the tuition fees based on percentage of marks in qualifying examinations as decided from time to time. The scholarship will be applicable on selected programs only.

Procedure for Grant of Scholarship
The scholarship will be awarded at the time of admission & the same is mentioned in the admission letter of the student. The admission department will seek prior approval from the competent authority for granting scholarships based on the prescribed percentage, percentile, or grades. Subsequently, the admission department will review the mark sheets to determine the category under which each student falls.

Withdrawal of Merit Scholarship

    The scholarship shall be withdrawn at any time during a programme, from the date under the following conditions:

  • Failure to secure the required SGPA/CGPA in any of the semesters/Year of the programme.
  • Failure to meet the required Attendance Criteria.
  • The student is unable to pass all the examinations in the first attempt in the normal examination scheduled for his/her programme.
  • The student is found to have adopted unfair means in examinations or has been debarred from appearing in the examinations.
  • If, during the scholarship period, the Head of the Institution/Department reports that the student has been involved in misconduct, misbehavior, serious indiscipline, incidents of ragging, or the use of drugs or narcotics etc. and such misconduct is established.

Inspire Scholarship

Inspire scholarship is designed to incentivize students to apply early in the selected programs and reduce the burden of tuition fees. Scholarship is provided by the university to the students who submit their applications early in the admission cycle. The availability of these scholarships is subject to limited seats allocated by the university at the beginning of the admission cycle.

Grant of Inspire Scholarship
The scholarship will be granted as per the criteria approved by the Board of Management on the recommendation of Admission Committee from time to time. It will be governed by the rules of admission as followed by the Admission Department.

Amount of Scholarship
The scholarship amount will be up to 40% of the tuition fees.

Procedure for Grant of Scholarship
Interested students shall submit their applications for admission within the specified application window. The Admission Department will review the applications received during the specified time frame to determine the eligibility for the Inspire Scholarship.

DreamZ-JRU Scholarship

In one-of-its kind social endeavor, Jharkhand Rai University provides full scholarships to underserved girl students from disadvantaged socio-economic backgrounds. These girls have big dreams – the dreams to make a mark for themselves and to do something for their families. Their dreams require the fuel of quality education and employment opportunities; all of which are provided through this unique scholarship program and our important industry linkages. This scholarship applies for the entire course duration of Bachelors and Master’s Degree programs at Jharkhand Rai University, Ranchi.

Grant of Dreamz-JRU Scholarship
Jharkhand Rai University invites NGOs, governments, corporate houses and individuals to identify and nominate underserved girls to study under this program. Eligibility for Undergraduate Courses: Pass outs from High School from a recognized board/awarding body. Eligibility for Postgraduate Courses: Bachelor’s degree in appropriate discipline.

Amount of Scholarship
Tuition fee for the entire duration of Bachelors and Master’s Degree programs at Jharkhand Rai University, Ranchi.

Procedure for Grant of Scholarship
University invites Principals / Heads of Institute/ NGOs/ Orphanages to nominate underserved girls to study under this program. Nominated girls will be selected by a selection committee.

Scholarship Policy for Ward/Spouse of University Employees

The University acknowledges the valuable role of its employees in fostering institutional progress. To provide support and encouragement to both employees and their families, a dedicated admission policy has been designed for the children and spouses of permanent staff members. This policy aims to create fair opportunities while upholding academic integrity and ensuring transparency in the admission process.

Eligibility

  • This policy is applicable to the Ward/Spouse of permanent teaching and non-teaching employees who have completed at least Five years of continuous service in the University.
  • The policy is applicable to the selected programs as approved by the competent authority from time to time.

Admission Criteria

  • Ward/Spouse must meet the minimum eligibility criteria (academic qualifications/ entrance test etc.) as prescribed for the respective program by the University/ Regulatory Authority.
  • Relaxation in the qualifying marks/entrance cut-off, if any, shall be as per University norms.

Fee Concession/Scholarship

  • The University shall extend concessions in tuition fees for the eligible candidates under this policy. Such concessions shall be applicable for up to two cases per eligible employee.
  • A waiver of the registration fee will be granted to female wards of eligible employees.
  • Any concession will not apply to self-financing components (hostel, transport, examination, etc.).

Continuation of Benefit

  • The fee concession/admission under this category shall continue till completion of the program, provided the employee remains in service. In case of resignation or termination of service, continuation of the benefit will be rolled back with immediate effect. In such case, the total fee will be applicable from the date of admission.
  • In case of superannuation, the benefit will continue.

Application Process

  • Eligible candidates must apply through the standard admission procedure of the University, clearly indicating their category (Ward/Spouse of Employee).
  • The application must be endorsed by the Head of Department/ Registrar/ HR Section with verification of employee status.

General Conditions

  • Admission under this policy shall not compromise academic standards and regulatory requirements.
  • This policy shall be reviewed periodically by the Board of Management.
  • Any dispute regarding interpretation of this policy shall be referred to the Vice-Chancellor, whose decision shall be final.

Loyalty Concessions

Jharkhand Rai University holds its students in high regard and endeavors to aid them in achieving their academic aspirations to the fullest extent. Concession of 100% of Registration Fees is provided for the students graduating/graduated from Jharkhand Rai University and opting for a higher degree program in Jharkhand Rai University. The difference between Year of Passing out and the Year of enrolling in a PG/UG Course bear no importance in this concession. Any and every one falling into the aforementioned criterion will be provided this benefit.

Fee Concession for the wards of Defense Personnel

Jharkhand Rai University deeply values and honors the dedicated service of the brave defense forces of India. As a testament to our enduring respect and gratitude, the University proudly extends a significant benefit to the wards of Defense Personnel. This enduring benefit comprises a Fee Concession of 10% on the Tuition Fee, representing our unwavering commitment to supporting the educational aspirations of those associated with the defense forces.

IMPORTANT NOTE:
Scholarships are granted subject to the submission of valid supporting documents that meet the prescribed criteria. Failure to furnish the required documents will lead to immediate cancellation of the awarded scholarship. The submission of fraudulent/incomplete documents may result in termination of the candidate’s admission.
A student is permitted to avail only one scholarship at a time. Combining multiple scholarship schemes is not allowed under any circumstances.
