Program Objective
Program is designed to equip students with both technical knowledge and management skills for a variety of mining operations. It also includes courses on mine management, legislation and safety. The students carry out assignments as well as practical projects in areas associated with mining industry. It includes both theoretical as well as practical lessons dealing with the thorough education of mining related operations. It covers the details related to mining methodology, ventilation, mining machineries, earth science, surveying, project management, mineral processing and fuel technology etc. Topics like underground mining (coal & metal), surface mining (coal & metal), mine safety, ore/ mineral sampling are also included in the course curriculum.
Career Objective:
- Supervise and manage mineral resources, mining operations and related activities effectively.
- Inculcate the habit of lifelong learning and obtaining supervisory and managerial certificates in mining engineering from DGMS and grow in the hierarchy in Mining Industry.
- Pursue further education by obtaining bachelors, masters and Ph.D degree in mining engineering disciplines.
